Job Summary

Join the Sydney-based Structured Lending Solutions team supporting mid-market financial sponsors across Australia and New Zealand. As an Analyst/Associate, you’ll help Relationship Managers originate and execute complex corporate lending transactions, including acquisition and cross-border funding structures. Work with CIB and Risk colleagues on consent requests and stress lending exposures, build/adapt financial models, monitor portfolio credit exposures, and support compliance and information controls while developing expertise across the broader business.

Key Responsibilities

•Assist Relationship Managers in originating and executing corporate event and complex lending transactions, including acquisition and cross-border funding structures.
•Provide support for HSBC’s mid-market and global financial sponsor proposition, including inbound global/regional priority sponsors and domestic private equity houses.
•Construct responses to complex lending-related consent requests and stress lending exposures, including alternate funding approaches.
•Act as a conduit to capital financing specialists (including Leverage & Acquisition Finance and Debt Capital Markets) to deliver lending-led solutions.
•Drive conflict check requirements, support compliance/information controls, and take responsibility for portfolio credit monitoring of sponsor-backed exposures.

Key Requirements

•Relevant experience in corporate banking, accounting or finance with a demonstrated track record of writing concise financial analyses and building content-focused pitch books.
•Ability to review, understand, and summarise corporate financial statements for credit and lending viability assessments.
•Proficiency in building and adapting financial models for corporate and event lending scenarios.
•Awareness of company valuation, capital structuring, and external ratings methodologies.
•Exposure to structuring and negotiating legal documentation, with the ability to manage tight timelines.
