Key Responsibilities

  • •Deliver the regulatory engagement strategy for Airwallex in Korea and manage existing payment services and money remittance regulatory compliance programs.
  • •Maintain licensing responsibilities and coordinate with internal and external parties to ensure compliance, including reporting, renewals, filings, and regulator interfacing.
  • •Support licence authorization processes for Airwallex Group expansion, acting as a key stakeholder for licence applications, business plan updates, and information requests.
  • •Advise the business on regulatory change initiatives and develop policies/processes for regulatory risk obligations within first-line teams.
  • •Deliver the compliance monitoring and training programs, including targeted/thematic reviews and ad-hoc training as required.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree with at least 6 years of compliance experience in a regulated financial institution, FinTech, or legal/consulting firm (or a combination).
  • •Familiarity with financial regulatory laws and best practices in Korea and across Asia.
  • •Experience developing and/or maintaining a compliance program within a financial institution, preferably for payments activity.
  • •Exposure to licensing processes, regulatory expansion, and RegTech or technology-driven compliance solutions.
  • •Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex topics to regulators, executive leadership, and front-line staff.
