Key Responsibilities

  • •Independently perform HVAC design tasks including load calculations, equipment selection, ductwork and piping layouts, and system sizing.
  • •Develop primary HVAC design elements for PS&E packages, and prepare technical specification sections ensuring compliance with applicable codes and standards.
  • •Identify discrepancies in design results, investigate root causes, and recommend corrective actions; perform technical quality reviews and maintain documentation.
  • •Coordinate with structural, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection disciplines to ensure integrated and conflict-free HVAC designs.
  • •Begin client interactions to gather information and present draft deliverables, and provide day-to-day guidance and technical training to junior engineers.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline.
  • •Minimum 5–7 years of experience in HVAC engineering design with demonstrated ability to independently execute primary design elements.
  • •Solid knowledge of HVAC systems including central air handling units, VAV systems, chilled water/heating hot water distribution, exhaust/ventilation, and split/VRF systems.
  • •Proficiency in HVAC load calculation and design tools such as Trane TRACE, HAP, eQUEST, or equivalent.
  • •Working knowledge of applicable codes and standards including ASHRAE 62.1, 90.1, 55, IMC, and local energy/building codes.
