Job Summary

Join Decagon’s Legal team as Commercial Counsel and help build the legal foundation for a fast-growing conversational AI business. You’ll review and negotiate high-volume enterprise SaaS agreements, partner with Sales, Security, Product, Finance, and RevOps, and design scalable contracting policies and controls. You’ll also translate complex legal risk into actionable guidance, define operating norms for legal in a hypergrowth environment, and support deal execution as the company scales.

•Review and negotiate commercial agreements, collaborating cross-functionally to balance legal risk with business outcomes.
•Provide solutions-oriented guidance to Sales teams based on technology, market norms, and legal expertise.
•Establish legal team working norms, processes, and standards in a hypergrowth startup environment.
•Design, update, and enforce policies and controls governing Decagon’s contracting process.
•Support scaling efforts and take on appropriate new challenges beyond Commercial legal as needed.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 235,000 - 300,000 annually

Key Requirements

•Qualified attorney in your jurisdiction with 4–8+ years of legal experience, including time at a top-tier law firm and/or relevant in-house role.
•Experience drafting, negotiating, and closing high volumes of commercial agreements, including SaaS, MSA, SOW, NDA, DPA, and partner/reseller deals.
•Fluency in legal frameworks such as GDPR, CCPA, and HIPAA, plus security concepts, AI governance, and IP concerns in SaaS transactions.
•Ability to balance legal risk with business outcomes and tailor guidance based on context and deal stage.
•Comfort operating cross-functionally as a go-to legal resource for Sales, Finance, Product, and RevOps.
