Key Responsibilities

  • •Own Instacart’s end-to-end compensation strategy and design/deliver annual and mid-year compensation cycles.
  • •Partner with HR Business Partners, Finance, Legal, and senior business leaders to provide actionable recommendations on executive offers, retention, org changes, pay equity, and related decisions.
  • •Lead a team of compensation business partners by setting direction, high standards, and coaching to scale compensation work aligned to business needs.
  • •Deeply shape and evolve equity compensation design and how equity is communicated as the company grows.
  • •Lead international expansion compensation work by building frameworks, market data, and guidance to pay people competitively and compliantly in new countries.

Salary: USD 201,000 - 253,500 annually

Key Requirements

  • •10+ years of progressive compensation experience, including 3+ years leading people management.
  • •Proven experience directly supporting large R&D or Engineering functions and advising VP/SVP-level leaders on complex compensation decisions.
  • •Deep expertise in equity compensation design and strategy within a tech company context where equity is central to the philosophy.
  • •Experience building compensation programs at scale (job architecture, market pricing, performance cycles, pay-for-performance frameworks).
  • •Ability to transform disparate data into executive-ready recommendations and advanced spreadsheet proficiency (gSheets and Excel).
