Job Summary

Join AECOM’s Manchester Bridges and Structures team delivering rail and road bridge engineering from inspection and assessment through feasibility and detailed design. Work hands-on on technical design and structural assessments, support supervision of Graduate Engineers and Technicians, and prepare technical documentation through client approvals. You’ll also contribute to tenders and project management, including programme/resource monitoring, quality control, and delivery, working across multi-disciplinary teams on major UK and overseas commissions.

Key Responsibilities

•Undertake rail and road bridge structural engineering schemes from inspection and assessment through feasibility to detailed design.
•Assist with supervision of Graduate Engineers and Technicians as appropriate.
•Prepare technical documentation through to client sign-off of Technical Approval documentation.
•Provide hands-on technical design and assessment for road and/or rail structures, including structural inspections and reporting.
•Assist with tenders and support project management activities such as programme/resource monitoring, quality control, and technical delivery.

Key Requirements

•Degree educated (or equivalent) in a relevant subject such as Bridge, Civil or Structural Engineering.
•MSc level (or equivalent) in Civil/Structural Engineering.
•Graduate Member with ICE and IStructE with a proven commitment to gaining Chartership.
•Experience with bridge and related structural inspection, assessment, and design schemes.
•Knowledge of Eurocodes and British Standards, plus working knowledge of AutoCad.
