  • •Own product outcomes for spaceflight hardware and manage subsystem lifecycle work.
  • •Develop subsystem and component requirements, including loads, interfaces, and functional requirements.
  • •Perform mechanical design and analysis of complex assemblies to satisfy launch and on-orbit requirements.
  • •Develop design best practices and define integration and schedule requirements in coordination with Assembly, Integration, and Test.
  • •Recruit, interview, and help hire additional team members, and mentor and train junior mechanical engineers.

Key Requirements

  • •B.S. or M.S. in mechanical or aerospace engineering (or equivalent).
  • •8+ years of experience in mechanical design and engineering.
  • •Strong CAD design skills (Solidworks) and finite element analysis (Femap, Ansys).
  • •Experience with GD&T and designing for manufacturability.
  • •Ability to design, analyze, and procure complex mechanical assemblies (30–40 components) and demonstrate leadership by mentoring junior engineers.
