Key Responsibilities

  • •Deliver pavement designs and technical reports to support safe, efficient, long-lasting transportation infrastructure across Alberta and Western Canada.
  • •Contribute to pavement engineering projects, ensuring high-quality technical delivery aligned with client and regulatory expectations.
  • •Analyze pavement performance data and apply AASHTO 1993 and Mechanistic-Empirical methodologies to inform design decisions.
  • •Plan and execute pavement investigations, including condition surveys and interpretation of FWD, IRI, rutting, and lifecycle data.
  • •Coordinate field investigations (e.g., coring, borehole logging, and material sampling) and mentor junior team members.

Key Requirements

  • •Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline with a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation (APEGA or Engineers & Geoscientists BC).
  • •10+ years of experience in pavement engineering, pavement management, or related infrastructure fields.
  • •Strong expertise in pavement design across flexible, rigid, composite, and gravel pavement structures.
  • •Proficiency with industry tools such as AASHTO 1993, Pavement ME, StreetPave, and SpectraPave.
  • •Experience with pavement performance assessment, including destructive and non-destructive testing methods.
