Job Summary

Provide full-range psychiatric diagnosis and treatment for both inpatients and outpatients. Conduct psychiatric consultations for cases referred from other services, offering clinical advice or assuming responsibility for care. Support early detection and referral of psychiatric cases by orienting physicians, psychologists, nurses, and staff. Participate in continuing medical education, teaching, and quality assurance, and follow DHA regulations and Joint Commission International norms, including after-hours/weekend calls as needed.

Key Responsibilities

•Provide full-range psychiatric diagnosis and treatment to inpatient and outpatient populations.
•Handle consultations for referred cases by offering clinical advice or assuming responsibility for care.
•Contribute to orientation of physicians, psychologists, nurses, and other medical organization personnel for early detection, recognition, management, or referral of psychiatric cases.
•Participate in continuing medical education, including talks in staff meetings, presenting cases in ward rounds, and lecturing to nurses.
•Take after-hours or weekend calls as required by specific cases or in emergency situations, and follow international guidelines, DHA regulations, and Joint Commission International norms.

Key Requirements

•Graduation from an approved medical school plus one year of internship and three years of residency; certification by the American Board of Psychiatry & Neurology or Member of the Royal College of Physicians (or equivalent).
•At least five (3) years of practice as a psychiatrist after certification.
•Excellent command of oral and written English; knowledge of Arabic is desirable (not essential).
•Ability to provide mature clinical judgment and professional leadership, with knowledge of Medical Department policies and procedures, including confidentiality obligations and adherence to medical organization bylaws and rules.
•Current licensure in country of origin and with DHA license to practice Psychiatric Medicine in Dubai, UAE.
