Key Responsibilities

  • •Define and drive the multi-quarter technical roadmap for Tasker & Supply, including onboarding, category eligibility, geography, matching, and evolution of engine boundaries, gateway contracts, and data models.
  • •Lead complex, cross-team initiatives focused on marketplace liquidity and supply-demand matching.
  • •Turn ambiguous, high-stakes business goals into clear technical strategies, designs, and experiments.
  • •Improve reliability and observability for onboarding, matching, and supply-side systems; own hard production debugging and implement systemic fixes.
  • •Serve as the go-to Ruby/Sorbet expert, champion testing and AI practices, mentor engineers and document solutions; lead adoption of spec-driven development and strongly typed TypeScript contract binding.

Key Requirements

  • •5+ years of professional software engineering experience, with a track record of leading complex work and influencing multiple teams.
  • •Strong background in Ruby on Rails and typed Ruby (Sorbet), plus working knowledge of TypeScript for contract-driven type generation.
  • •Solid SQL and data modeling skills (MySQL).
  • •Hands-on experience with async/event-driven systems (Kafka) and service or engine-boundary architecture.
  • •Proven experience building and owning observability and alerting for critical systems.
