Job Summary

Perform and supervise low to high complexity diagnostic testing in the laboratory, with pediatric and adult phlebotomy, while ensuring quality control, safety, and compliance with JCI, CAP and ISO15189. Liaise with the Team Lead on test selection and results, operate automated equipment, and provide technical support across units to maintain accurate laboratory records and timely reporting.

Job Function: Laboratory & Clinical Operations

Key Responsibilities

•Actively participates in the technical and analytical work of the section.
•Liaises with the Team Lead on appropriateness of tests, results, and additional testing as required.
•Monitors, records, reports back results, and participates in discussions to rectify areas of concern if necessary.
•Identifies problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting of test results and either corrects the problem or notifies the Team Lead.
•Collects laboratory specimens and performs assigned laboratory procedures and other tests as necessary and immediately reports abnormal findings to appropriate staff.

Key Requirements

•Minimum 4 years’ experience in clinical laboratories as a licensed Clinical Scientist or Technologist (Required).
•Minimum 3 years of Phlebotomy experience in a pediatric hospital (Required)
•Minimum 3 years as a Technologist in a CAP or ISO15189 laboratory (Preferred)
•Minimum 2 years in GCC (Preferred)
•Bachelor's Degree in Biomedical Engineering or any related field
