Job Summary

Design and build backend services, infrastructure, APIs, and integrations that power an internal support and admin platform used across Cloudflare. Partner with engineering and non-engineering stakeholders (Support, Legal, Security) to onboard applications and translate operational needs into secure, governed capabilities at enterprise scale. Improve authorization and security posture, ramp through legacy codebases, contribute to reliability and observability, and participate in on-call incident response.

Key Responsibilities

•Design, implement, and operate backend services, infrastructure, APIs, and integrations for the internal support and admin platform.
•Partner with engineering teams to onboard support and admin applications, ensuring scalable and well-governed integrations.
•Collaborate with Support, Legal, and Security to translate operational needs into reliable, maintainable platform capabilities.
•Own and continuously improve the platform’s security and authorization posture, implementing access control policies and compliance requirements at scale.
•Participate in on-call rotations, respond to production incidents, run post-incident reviews, and improve platform observability and reliability.

Key Requirements

•5+ years building and operating production backend services at enterprise/large-scale organizations with strong proficiency in Go and/or TypeScript.
•Demonstrated experience in platform engineering, internal tooling, or support/admin systems supporting non-technical end users or customer-facing teams.
•Strong understanding of authorization/authentication systems such as OAuth 2.0, OIDC, JWT, OPA/Rego, and role-based access control with a security-first approach.
•Experience scaling systems to serve large sets of internal consumers with varying reliability and performance needs.
•Advanced, hands-on experience with Kubernetes and Docker in production, plus strong database experience (schema design, query optimization, HA operations).
