Key Responsibilities

  • •Serve as Mechanical Project Lead, responsible for mechanical design and construction administration for building projects.
  • •Prepare Basis of Design reports, technical memoranda, and specifications; develop early-stage concepts into detailed design.
  • •Design HVAC systems (package units, central plants, hydronic systems) and perform HVAC calculations and analysis (including Carrier HAP).
  • •Design complete plumbing systems and fire protection systems using performance specification approach; size ducts/pipes, flows, heater sizing, and pump selection.
  • •Design HVAC controls with integration into Building Management Systems and SCADA; coordinate with vendors, conduct client/vendor meetings, travel for inspections, and support field staff during construction.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering plus 6 years of experience designing HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and controls for commercial, institutional, and light industrial facilities.
  • •Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in British Colombia, in good standing.
  • •Ability to obtain security clearance for government work.
  • •Able to work independently or as part of a team with strong written and spoken communication.
  • •Perform design calculations/drawings quality control prior to senior staff review.
