Job Summary

Ensure smooth, safe, and efficient operations of the SeaWorld Abu Dhabi Zoological Department by supporting animal/guest interactions, animal training, husbandry, and enrichment. Deliver proactive guest services through shows and inquiry support, monitor animal behavior for potential risks, maintain sanitary living conditions and animal records, and report abnormalities. Perform education and research/general public program roles, support colleague and animal training, and follow policies, SOPs, and safe work practices.

Key Responsibilities

•Safely fulfill duties in animal/guest interactions, animal training, husbandry, enrichment, and general public presentations and research.
•Perform daily husbandry tasks including administering vitamins and medication as directed.
•Prepare food and provide proper nutrition and constant care; maintain safe, appropriate, sanitary living conditions for animal habitats.
•Apply behavioral modification techniques, train animals, and monitor behavioral precursors of potentially harmful behavior in animals and people to support guest safety.
•Provide proactive guest services through guest interactions (including pre and post shows), assist with colleague/animal training, and deliver education and guest interaction programs while maintaining daily records and following SOPs and safe work habits.

Key Requirements

•High School diploma or equivalent
•Open Water SCUBA certified
•2 years of relatable animal experience in a professional setting
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
•Excellent swimming and diving skills; basic mathematical and computer knowledge (including MS Office and an animal recording system)
