Job Summary

Lead and grow the Traffic/ITS practice in North Texas, overseeing project delivery, client relationships and business development across municipal and regional clients. Mentor junior staff, manage scope, schedule and budgets, and coordinate with civil, structures, environmental and planning teams on ITS and traffic projects using tools like Synchro, VISSIM, MicroStation/OpenRoads and AutoCAD Civil 3D.

Key Responsibilities

•Build, lead, and mentor a team of traffic and ITS professionals serving municipal and regional clients throughout North Texas.
•Manage and deliver technical services such as traffic operations and safety studies, forecasting, simulation, and planning; PS&E packages for traffic signals, ITS, signing/striping, lighting, and MOT; and systems engineering for ITS projects.
•Oversee production of technical deliverables including reports, estimates, memos, presentations, and plan sets; serve as Project Manager or technical lead on traffic/ITS assignments.
•Develop and maintain strong client relationships with municipal agencies, MPOs, and TxDOT district offices; coordinate with internal teams across civil, structures, environmental, and planning disciplines.
•Support business development efforts: identify opportunities, develop capture strategies, lead/assist with proposal writing and client interviews; manage scope, schedule, and budget for multiple projects.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 120,000 - 185,000 annually

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline. Minimum of 8 years of progressively responsible experience in traffic/ITS engineering.
•Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related field (preferred).
•20+ years of experience delivering traffic/ITS services, with a strong portfolio of municipal projects across Texas (preferred).
•Texas Professional Engineer (PE) license and active PTOE certification (or ability to obtain within 6 months) (preferred).
•Proven success in client-facing roles and business development, especially with municipal agencies and TxDOT.
