Key Responsibilities

  • •Lead by example on safety and environmental compliance, including MSHA and Red Dog EMS training and daily workplace inspections.
  • •Ensure compliance with policies and standard operating procedures and advise coworkers/visitors as required.
  • •Install, maintain, dismantle, and overhaul machinery and perform routine maintenance on port conveyor belts.
  • •Inspect equipment for irregularities/malfunctions; troubleshoot and perform tasks such as lubrication, seal replacement, and preventative maintenance.
  • •Operate port equipment as needed and perform facility repair work (e.g., plumbing, carpentry, troubleshooting) while keeping tools/equipment clean and orderly.

Key Requirements

  • •High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • •10+ years as a Journeyman Millwright in a heavy industrial setting maintaining pumps, conveyors, gearboxes, and roll-up doors/baghouses.
  • •10+ years welding, performing alignments, heavy rigging, and fabrication with strong building/facility repair skills (e.g., carpentry, flooring, plumbing).
  • •3 years machinist experience.
  • •Able to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) and hold a current valid driver’s license; committed to safety and able to work day/night shifts outdoors in inclement weather.
