Job Summary

Lead day-to-day operations for the Conditioning and Shipping departments at a Bakers South plant near Charlotte, NC. Own safety performance while driving continuous improvement using Lean Manufacturing to improve safety, quality, efficiency, costs, and scrap. Manage and develop personnel, and partner cross-functionally with Maintenance, Planning, Purchasing, Technology, Quality, and HR to meet business plan requirements.

Key Responsibilities

•Direct the day-to-day operations of the Conditioning and Shipping departments, balancing production demands and personnel needs.
•Direct a safety program to ensure employee safety and participation to established goals.
•Research, propose, and implement improvements using Lean Manufacturing principles to meet performance goals across safety, quality, efficiency, costs, and scrap.
•Manage personnel including task assignment, performance management, policy adherence, and development.
•Collaborate with Maintenance, Planning, Purchasing, Technology, Quality, and Human Resources to meet business plan requirements.

Key Requirements

•4-year college degree or equivalent work experience.
•Minimum 3 years of leadership experience in a high-tech manufacturing environment.
•Minimum 2 years of experience applying Lean Principles in a manufacturing environment.
•Experience managing, guiding, and developing employees.
•Knowledge of powder metal processes and Vacuum Induction Melt; proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
