Key Responsibilities

  • •Conduct daily inspections of assigned areas to ensure operations follow Federal/State/local regulations and ASE policies; identify hazards/deficiencies and initiate corrective actions.
  • •Prepare written reports on inspection results, certifications, accidents, injuries/illness investigations, and employee concerns.
  • •Establish and maintain regular communication with customer-assigned safety representatives and department/ship managers.
  • •Conduct and document daily safety walkthrough inspections of assigned projects; coordinate with customer representatives.
  • •Inspect and certify vessel confined spaces and maintain regulated certificates/records, including fire extinguishers, eye wash stations, ear plug stations, and MSDS/SDS sheets.

Key Requirements

  • •DoD Secret clearance (or able to obtain) and ability to obtain a CAC card.
  • •Bachelor’s degree and 2 years waterfront Maritime Safety industry experience (or equivalent trade/apprenticeship/military alternatives).
  • •Be able to access government installations using a Biometric Defense Identification System (DBIS) credential for work on-board US Naval vessels or government-assigned work.
  • •Acquire and maintain a Competent Person’s Certification while employed as an ASE Safety Inspector.
  • •Minimum computer experience with Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat; OSHA 10; maintain Competent Person certification and be familiar with NAVSEA Standard items.
