Key Responsibilities

  • •Develop forward-looking dry-bulk market views and trading strategies using physical market and macroeconomic analysis.
  • •Identify mispricing across freight routes, spreads, and forward curves, and translate analysis into actionable trading and hedging recommendations.
  • •Design and recommend hedging strategies for physical freight exposures using appropriate FFA contracts, structures, and execution timing within approved mandates.
  • •Execute freight derivative transactions through exchanges, clearing platforms, banks, and OTC counterparties, managing liquidity, costs, and position risk.
  • •Maintain governance and compliance by monitoring market/position risks and limits, escalating breaches, and keeping accurate records and approvals.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree or qualification in commerce, business, finance, or a related field.
  • •5+ years’ experience in financial trading or related roles, including developing and providing trading strategies in bulk freight markets.
  • •Extensive knowledge of financial derivative markets, specifically freight and bulks markets, with ability to develop and execute value-adding trading strategies.
  • •Sound financial modelling skills, comfortable working with large and imperfect datasets and testing assumptions.
  • •Ability to work across stakeholders (e.g., Risk, Legal, Accounting, Tax, Compliance, Operations, Shipping) and demonstrate risk-discipline and governance awareness.
