Job Summary

Own and oversee the APAC customs and trade compliance program for all VF brands, with focused accountability for China, Japan, and South Korea. Define regional compliance governance, control frameworks, and risk mitigation; lead HTS classification, valuation, origin, and duty optimization strategies. Manage customs audits and authority interactions, run KPI and compliance dashboards, and lead a team of 8 professionals while partnering cross-functionally with Logistics, Supply Chain, Finance, Legal, IT, brokers, and external service providers. Travel 20–30% across APAC as needed.

Key Responsibilities

•Own and oversee the APAC customs trade compliance program for all VF brands and business entities, with focused accountability for China, Japan, and South Korea.
•Define regional compliance governance, policies, procedures, and control frameworks to ensure import/export activities comply with laws, regulations, and internal standards.
•Oversee HTS classification, country of origin, customs valuation, duty rate assignment, and related ruling strategies across brands and product lines.
•Lead, coach, and develop a team of 8 customs trade compliance professionals, including succession planning, talent development, performance management, and team engagement.
•Drive regional audit readiness and authority interactions, and manage customs systems/master data, KPI reporting, and duty optimization/trade preference initiatives.

Travel: Medium travel

Key Requirements

•10+ years of progressive customs trade compliance experience with a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Supply Chain, International Trade, Customs, or related discipline.
•Strong APAC customs compliance experience with practical knowledge of China, Japan, and South Korea customs environments.
•Proven experience owning regional customs programs, managing audits, leading compliance transformation, and working with customs authorities, brokers, and consultants.
•5+ years leading professional teams, including coaching, performance management, succession planning, talent development, and leading through change in a regional or matrix environment.
•Deep knowledge of APAC customs processes, trade compliance controls, and import/export operations, including ERP/trade systems knowledge (SAP, Infor).
