Key Responsibilities

  • •Install and document new and/or updated inside plant cable infrastructure (conduit, cable trays, copper, coax, fiber, and associated elements) across the Pentagon, Mark Center, and NCR buildings supported by DISA J6.
  • •Perform move/add/change tasks for copper cabling infrastructure, Voice over IP (VoIP) networks, and fiber optic cabling infrastructure.
  • •Install, maintain, and repair voice and data communications systems; interpret cabling cutsheets, circuit diagrams, and electrical schematics.
  • •Test, locate, install, and repair cabling infrastructure related to trouble calls; verify work orders, equipment, and service by testing, correcting, or escalating problems.
  • •Document networks by labeling/routing equipment and cables and recording diagrams/specifications; maintain networks by troubleshooting/repairing outages and updating documentation.

Key Requirements

  • •Associate’s Degree and a minimum of 3 years of related experience (or 5 years related technical experience in lieu of degree).
  • •Active Top Secret security clearance required.
  • •Familiarity with BICSI rules, regulations, and standards.
  • •Experience using network cabling test equipment (network testers, copper cable testers, fiber OTDRs, and fiber power meters).
  • •Ability to communicate effectively, provide customer support in a high-visibility environment, and maintain high attention to detail and accuracy.
