Job Summary

Lead and review bridge design work, including strengthening, repairs, inspections, and assessments. Provide civil and structural engineering support across teams, run feasibility studies and options appraisals, and prepare or review specifications, reports, and health & safety risk assessments. Contribute CDM documentation, review design drawings, and prepare fee estimates, while supervising junior team members and ensuring high-quality, client-focused delivery.

Key Responsibilities

•Lead and review bridge design across relevant projects.
•Lead and review bridge strengthening and repair, including inspections and assessments.
•Provide general civil and structural engineering support to other teams.
•Carry out feasibility studies and options appraisals and prepare or review specifications and reports.
•Supervise junior team members and contribute to CDM documentation, design drawing reviews, and fee estimates.

Key Requirements

•Professional qualification and membership with the Institution of Civil Engineers (CEng MICE) or Institution of Structural Engineers (MIStructE).
•Practical knowledge and experience of bridge design, maintenance, and assessment.
•Understanding and experience of Eurocodes and/or sector-specific codes and standards (e.g., Network Rail standards, DMRB).
•Experience using finite element analysis software and parametric design techniques.
•Commercial awareness, strong report-writing skills, and experience leading teams.
