Job Summary

Design and review process elements for water and wastewater treatment projects across feasibility, outline, detail, and construction design. Support site surveys and client collaboration, run hydraulic calculations, capacity assessments, and equipment design, and produce PFDs/P&IDs, reports, and safety documentation including LoPA, HAZOP, and HAZID. Deliver high-quality designs within budget and timelines while mentoring junior staff and shaping digital workflows using BIM and Projectwise.

Key Responsibilities

•Undertake design and review of process elements for wastewater and water infrastructure/treatment projects, including site surveys and hydraulic assessments.
•Develop basis of design and perform calculations (mass/energy balances, headloss, pumping system analysis) and process equipment design.
•Prepare and review PFDs, P&IDs, technical specifications, technical reports, and safety documentation including Hazardous Area Classification and LoPA.
•Engage in feasibility through construction design stages, ensuring compliance with national and international design standards.
•Support bids and proposals, deliver designs within budget/timelines, and delegate tasks while mentoring more junior staff.

Key Requirements

•Proven experience designing water and wastewater engineering deliverables, including treatment schemes and multi-disciplinary knowledge.
•BEng or MEng in a related engineering field, with experience in water and wastewater treatment.
•Chartered (or near Chartered) member of a relevant professional institution.
•Proven experience working at senior engineer level within a consultancy in the water sector.
•Experience managing projects, delegating tasks, and providing technical mentoring.
