Lead the architecture and implementation of next-generation compute for a humanoid robot platform, ensuring real-time performance, sensor bandwidth handling, and functional safety. Own requirements definition, high-speed PCB/SoM integration (e.g., NVIDIA Orin), and signal/power integrity validation. Drive component selection and DVT/PVT testing to meet performance and regulatory needs, while mentoring electrical engineering teammates across the full hardware lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

•Architect the robot’s next-generation compute solution from high-level system architecture through component selection.
•Define and validate compute requirements for robotics algorithms including motion control, perception, and AI tasks.
•Design scalable compute capable of handling high-bandwidth sensor data and develop performance/power optimization plans.
•Implement functional safety by building redundant systems, fail-safe mechanisms, and diagnostic features aligned with industry standards.
•Own the compute hardware lifecycle (concept to production release) and lead validation/testing plans including DVT/PVT and regulatory compliance (e.g., FCC, CE).

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 210,000 - 235,000 annually

Key Requirements

•Proven experience architecting and shipping complex, high-performance compute solutions for robotics, autonomous systems, or similar applications.
•Deep understanding of functional safety principles and standards (e.g., IEC 61508) with experience in safety-critical design.
•Expertise with embedded compute platforms, including NVIDIA Jetson, Intel, and other high-performance embedded systems.
•Strong knowledge of RTOS, multi-core processing, and communication protocols such as Ethernet and CAN.
•10+ years of experience in embedded systems or robotics compute design, with a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering (Master’s or Ph.D. preferred).
