Design and develop mechanical products through innovation, value engineering, quality & reliability, and NPD/NTP projects. Prepare plans, designs, calculations, and bills of materials aligned to codes and standards, while delivering against Quality, Delivery & Cost (QDC). Lead concept generation through prototyping, testing, risk assessment, pilot production, design reviews/verification, product validation, and launch activities, collaborating with global SMEs.

Key Responsibilities

•Deliver mechanical product design and development activities for NPDs and NTPs, accountable for Quality, Delivery & Cost (QDC).
•Lead concept generation through design & development, planning, testing, and support.
•Conduct risk assessment and lead prototyping/testing, initial engineering builds, pilot production, design reviews, design verification, product validation, and pre-production launch activities.
•Develop new ideas for feasibility and proof of concept (POC)/disclosures aligned to the product ecosystem and sustainability goals.
•Use structured engineering problem-solving approaches to capture product requirements and work with global SMEs within Trane’s Product Development Process.

Key Requirements

•BE degree or Master in Mechatronics.
•3-5 years of industry experience.
•Strong competency in innovation projects including mechanical, electronics, and control systems; some understanding of thermal.
•Strong understanding of plastics, sheet metals, castings, and their design & manufacturing processes.
•Experience with DFMEA, DVP, and test plan development; exposure to prototyping and testing.
