Job Summary

Lead the Ground Engineering team in Newcastle, driving technical development and capability growth while delivering multi-disciplinary ground engineering projects. Build and manage client relationships, oversee geotechnical analyses and design work, mentor junior engineers and coordinate with Transport, Water, Power and Buildings & Places teams to win work and ensure project success.

Key Responsibilities

•Provide effective leadership and support to the Ground Engineering team to ensure delivery of projects on time and to quality expectations.
•Build relationships with past, current and prospective customers to sustain a pipeline of opportunities and lead delivery of multi-disciplinary projects.
•Oversee input, peer review and verification of geotechnical data and analyses and design calculations.
•Offer consultative advice to external partners throughout the project lifecycle including site selection and optioneering.
•Mentor and develop junior team members, ensuring appropriate guidance and support.

Key Requirements

•Bachelors or Masters degree in Geotechnical or Civil Engineering, ideally with CEng, MICE.
•Measurable experience and success in a similar leadership role within a consultancy environment.
•Ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
•Effective networking capabilities in local, regional, and national markets to promote the AECOM brand as a preferred consulting partner.
•Insightfulness, the ability to recognise opportunities and challenges and make informed decisions.
