Key Responsibilities

  • •Oversee all welding work during offshore campaigns on board vessels and job sites.
  • •Select welders, monitor their performance, and manage welding foremen and the pipeline welding crew.
  • •Implement applicable welding and QA/QC procedures, conduct toolbox meetings, and promote HSE and safety standards.
  • •Coordinate with welding inspectors, third-party NDT personnel, and the client/inspection team.
  • •Manage welding consumables and safety gear issuance, track electrode consumption, troubleshoot welding problems, and interpret radiography films versus client specifications.

Key Requirements

  • •Secondary School Certificate with a discipline-specific technical qualification (or equivalent).
  • •Minimum 10 years of relevant Oil & Gas industry experience.
  • •Solid knowledge of pipeline welding using SMAW or FCAW, and automatic welding using GMAW (pulsed) in the 5G downhill position, including air-arc gouging and repair welding.
  • •Working knowledge of pipeline welding codes and standards including AP1 1104, DNV OS-F 101, and BS 4515.
  • •Ability to interpret radiography films, read welding procedure specification and inspection plan documents, and write clear reports in English.
