Key Responsibilities

  • •Promote a zero-incident safety culture by ensuring HSE compliance, lifting procedures, work permits, isolations, and applicable risk controls during shutdowns.
  • •Supervise and coordinate shutdown work across mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and structural disciplines according to approved work plans and schedules.
  • •Lead internal teams and contractors: allocate resources, ensure required competencies and means, and run kick-off, safety briefings, and daily coordination meetings.
  • •Ensure technical quality and compliance by following approved procedures, OEM recommendations and engineering standards; oversee quality inspections, stop points, functional tests and work validation before handover.
  • •Control shutdown progress versus the calendar, milestones and critical-path activities, provide accurate progress reporting, and contribute to recovery plans when deviations occur.

Key Requirements

  • •Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering or Maintenance, plus a recognized certification in maintenance management, planning, lifting or project management (Primavera P6, PMP, SAP PM, CMMS or equivalent is an asset).
  • •At least 5 years of experience in maintenance, supervising plant shutdowns, or executing industrial works, ideally in mining, manufacturing or heavy industry.
  • •Strong knowledge of maintenance work processes, shutdown execution, resource coordination, schedule tracking, contractor management, and critical path methodologies (CPM).
  • •Solid understanding of health, safety and risk management requirements for industrial environments, and asset reliability principles, maintenance management and CMMS systems (SMRP or ISO 55001 is an asset).
  • •Strong leadership, communication, coordination and stakeholder management skills, with analytical/problem-solving ability and the capacity to work under pressure.
