Key Responsibilities

  • •Provide end-to-end legal counseling for payroll and AI product initiatives, including launch readiness assessments, AI impact assessments, model cards, and risk controls with Privacy/Security.
  • •Work with Commercial Legal on product terms and AI-specific clauses for payroll features (training/usage data & metadata, output/IP ownership, acceptable use, transparency).
  • •Monitor new AI and tech regulations and translate them into concrete, actionable steps for product, design, and engineering teams.
  • •Manage external counsel on complex, multi-jurisdictional matters and drive clear, practical outcomes.
  • •Partner with Privacy and Security on DPIAs/TIAs, incident response, and vendor/LLM diligence, including enablement via trainings or office hours.

Key Requirements

  • •Qualified lawyer with extensive experience in product counseling across multiple jurisdictions (multiple bars a plus).
  • •Product counsel experience in technology, with proven expertise in HR tech (Payroll/PEO/EOR) and advising at scale across jurisdictions.
  • •Deep expertise in AI frameworks (EU AI Act, UK approach, U.S. developments, Canada AIDA) and how they interplay with data protection, employment law, and payroll compliance.
  • •In-house legal experience (bonus).
  • •Writes and speaks fluent English; excellent analytical and organizational skills.
