Key Responsibilities

  • •Support SOC engineers and analysts, including day-to-day SOC tooling and system maintenance.
  • •Execute change and release management, ensuring scheduled maintenance and patching are approved and delivered within KPI/SLA targets.
  • •Monitor audit and security logs for breaches and malware across available zones.
  • •Perform system backups/restores for SOC tooling and deploy approved patches, software fixes, and policy updates.
  • •Produce reports on SLA/system performance, obsolescence, risk, and system availability, and liaise with Newport MRO for daily checks and system health status.

Key Requirements

  • •Experienced cyber engineer with strong networking background and SOC systems maintenance experience.
  • •Good knowledge of SOC tooling including IDPS, Firewalls, SIEM, Splunk, and Email & Web Protection.
  • •Experience implementing and fault-finding firewall technologies including Cisco ASR, Palo Alto, and Fortinet.
  • •Experience carrying out scheduled maintenance and patching to approved deadlines.
  • •Experience with scripting/programming and Windows and RedHat server systems, including CIS hardening.
