Key Responsibilities

  • •Develop, implement, improve, and maintain environmental compliance programs for the Hawthorne, CA site supporting multiple SpaceX teams.
  • •Oversee day-to-day environmental site management and implement/enforce/audit the Site-Wide Soil Management Plan (SMP).
  • •Conduct required monitoring and sampling under the SMP, including VOC monitoring with a PID, methane monitoring, and VOC air sampling.
  • •Manage hazardous waste sampling, profiling, disposal, and maintain compliance/regulatory reporting for Hazardous Materials Business Plans (HMBPs).
  • •Track and interpret environmental laws/regulations, maintain compliance calendars/recordkeeping systems/software, coordinate contractors, and support permitting/testing/assessments.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree.
  • •4+ years of professional experience designing, developing, and executing environmental and regulatory compliance programs, preferably in manufacturing and/or construction environments.
  • •Bachelor’s degree in engineering with an emphasis in environmental engineering.
  • •Experience implementing a site-wide Soil Management Plan required by DTSC, including environmental remediation.
  • •California regulatory and environmental compliance experience, including experience working with DTSC, CUPA, EPA, and applicable air and water agencies.
