Key Responsibilities

•Lead drafting, review, and negotiation of commercial agreements end-to-end, applying a risk-balanced approach that supports growth at startup speed.
•Build, maintain, and continuously improve a contract playbook with standard language, fallbacks, escalation triggers, and approved terms across common deal types.
•Deploy AI-assisted contract workflows and measure quality against human review to improve efficiency.
•Advise the business on high-impact commercial decisions, including major partnerships, market expansion, and new products.
•Manage external counsel effectively, ensuring quality, turnaround, and cost proportionality, while partnering with product, finance, operations, and leadership to enable commercial growth.

Key Requirements

•4-7 years of in-house, startup, fintech, or comparable private practice FinTech/payments experience; proven track record in a high-volume commercial contracting function
•Comfort with metrics (cycle time, deviation rate, escalation rate) and using data to drive process changes
•Excellent at managing external counsel globally, balancing quality with cost
•Exceptional communicator who can distill complex legal and commercial issues into clear guidance for non-lawyers
•Highly organized, autonomous, and able to manage multiple high-stakes deliverables in parallel
