Key Responsibilities

  • •Strictly adhere to Metals Recycling Business Health, Safety, and Environmental standards and provide a safe environment for employees, customers, and visitors.
  • •Inspect scrap metal shipments received via truck, rail car, or ship to ensure materials meet specifications and are free from environmental hazards.
  • •Correctly identify and record inspection data such as weight, grade, content, and quantity; notify supervisors of problems and recommend remedial procedures.
  • •Collaborate with the commercial department to ensure quality and consistency of customer deliveries; direct safe, orderly unloading of vehicles.
  • •Report equipment deficiencies or malfunctions for maintenance/repair and support the internal control process by complying with and communicating required controls.

Key Requirements

  • •High school diploma, GED certification, or equivalent experience in a similar role preferred.
  • •Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, and techniques for maximizing receipt and transfer of quality product.

  • •Ability to work safely in physically demanding conditions, including standing/walking frequently and lifting up to 50 pounds.
