Key Responsibilities

  • •Lead overall program strategy and execution for an FDA scientific computing environment supporting hundreds of scientists and laboratory teams.
  • •Translate FDA scientific and regulatory mission needs into computing capabilities, modernization strategies, investment priorities, and action plans.
  • •Serve as the senior client-facing leader, engaging with FDA scientific leadership, OIMT, CORs, researchers, and technical stakeholders.
  • •Develop and maintain program plans, reporting structures, risk management processes, and governance frameworks.
  • •Oversee coordinated delivery across HPC operations, scientific infrastructure, storage, cloud services, cybersecurity, bioinformatics, and scientific workstation environments.

Key Requirements

  • •12–15+ years of experience leading complex technical or scientific computing programs.
  • •US Citizen or Green Card Holder; ability to obtain a Public Trust.
  • •Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Scientific Computing, or related field.
  • •Experience working within FDA or another federal scientific/public health organization.
  • •Proven ability to translate mission requirements into technical strategies and drive execution across interdisciplinary teams.
