Key Responsibilities

  • •Ensure safe and efficient operation of plant refrigeration, boiler, air compressor, and hot water systems.
  • •Perform daily preventative maintenance, inspections, testing, troubleshooting, and repairs on ammonia refrigeration and related components.
  • •Follow Tyson safety precautions for ammonia hazards and ensure compliance with OSHA and EPA requirements.
  • •Maintain, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair ammonia compressors (Howden, Sullair, Mycom), condensers, valve stations, heat exchangers, pump packages, and boilers/air compressors/hot water systems.
  • •Participate as an Emergency Response Team Member and follow verbal and written procedures; perform specified training (including IIAR modules).

Key Requirements

  • •1-year industrial maintenance/electrical training plus 1 year of ammonia refrigeration or HVAC operator experience.
  • •PSM experience.
  • •Experience working with anhydrous ammonia systems, including mechanical and electrical repairs.
  • •Able to obtain SCBA certification and use fully encapsulated chemical suit in emergency.
  • •Able to pass IIAR training modules for ammonia refrigeration and perform preventative maintenance programs.
