Key Responsibilities

  • •Design and build learner models, including knowledge tracing and longitudinal approaches for mastery and progression features.
  • •Shape learner-model data foundations by defining important signals and building required datasets.
  • •Translate mastery/progression definitions into model targets and evaluation criteria with learning scientists and product partners.
  • •Develop estimation and scoring methods that perform under sparse, noisy, and evolving behavioral data.

Key Requirements

  • •6+ years in applied machine learning, machine learning engineering, or applied research, with ownership of shipped models in real products.
  • •Depth in sequence/temporal modeling, latent-variable or probabilistic modeling, Bayesian methods, or calibration of model outputs for time-evolving data.
  • •Strong Python and production engineering skills, including building pipelines that train and score models and serve predictions to users.
  • •Strong evaluation instincts covering calibration, uncertainty, stability, fairness, interpretability, and validation strategy.
