Key Responsibilities

  • •Independently execute groove and fillet welds on structural members (beams, columns, bracing) in all positions.
  • •Primarily use FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding) and/or SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding) processes.
  • •Read and interpret structural steel blueprints, detailing the assembly and required weld symbols.
  • •Work closely with Structural Fitters to ensure fit-up and alignment meet dimensional tolerances prior to welding.
  • •Ensure all structural welds comply with the American Welding Society (AWS) D1.1 Structural Welding Code.

Key Requirements

  • •Minimum 3 years of industrial construction/maintenance experience.
  • •Valid weld certifications (or ability to certify) in FCAW and SMAW for plate and structural shapes.
  • •Strong ability to read and interpret complex structural steel blueprints and welding symbols.
  • •Prior experience with heavy construction, such as Ironworker or Boilermaker support on structural steel erection.
  • •Experience with automated or semi-automated structural welding systems.
