Key Responsibilities

•Advance Firefox's security architecture and cryptography stack by contributing to improvements in core security systems, cryptographic protocols, WebPKI, and security-sensitive web APIs.
•Design and implement web platform security features through collaboration with teammates and the broader web community, ensuring standards-based, secure, and interoperable Firefox implementations.
•Improve browser reliability, performance, and resource efficiency by investigating and resolving issues affecting stability, correctness, and memory usage in a multi-threaded browser environment.
•Collaborate on security initiatives by partnering with engineers across teams to identify, prioritize, and address security issues and participate in debugging and root cause analysis.
•Contribute to technical design and planning for security-related initiatives, engaging in design reviews and evaluating tradeoffs within your area of work.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: CAD 104,000 - 139,000 annually

Key Requirements

•Proficiency in C/C++ with a solid understanding of security principles including cryptographic protocols and implementations.
•Experience building and maintaining complex software systems in large-scale or security-sensitive environments; able to contribute to design, implementation, testing, and maintenance.
•Strong debugging and problem-solving skills for multi-threaded, cross-platform native applications, including performance and memory challenges.
•Excellent collaboration and communication skills; ability to work effectively with distributed teams and convey technical concepts clearly.
•Growth mindset with interest in browser security, cryptography, and systems programming; familiarity with web technologies and Rust is a plus.
