Job Summary

Experienced Airfield Civil Engineer to lead planning, design, and construction of airport improvement projects in Charlotte and the Southeastern United States. Develops civil airfield planning and design, manages multi-discipline projects (runways, taxiways, aprons, lighting, drainage), mentors staff, and coordinates with clients, FAA, and funding agencies to deliver high-impact aviation projects.

Key Responsibilities

•Develop civil airfield planning, design and construction improvement documents, working with experienced aviation planning and design staff
•Collaborate with planning and design team members, contractors, and subconsultants for ongoing planning, design, and construction projects
•Perform aviation-related civil design, planning, construction support, and client management services for General Aviation and Commercial Air Service Airports
•Plan, direct, and monitor all aspects of multi-discipline airport design projects including runways, taxiways, aprons, lighting, signaling, drainage, utilities, and pavement rehabilitation
•Drive projects from inception to final delivery in planning, design, and construction administration, including grading, drainage, pavement design, specifications, and construction safety plans

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 110,000 - 150,000 annually

Key Requirements

•BS Civil Engineering or related field and 6 years of airport/airfield planning or civil engineering experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
•Experienced with AutoCAD Civil 3D Design
•North Carolina Professional Engineer License or ability to obtain in 12 months (preferred)
•Experience with airport improvements from planning through the design and construction phase
•Proficient and experienced in FAA Advisory Circulars and Airport Design and Engineering Standards
