Job Summary

Senior technical lead for Protection & Control (P&C) design and deliverables on transmission, distribution, and renewable projects (onshore/offshore wind and solar), including 11kV to 400kV designs, coordination with US Energy Engineering Team, and implementation of Safety by Design across multi-disciplinary projects.

Key Responsibilities

•Prepare proposals and scopes, including conceptual designs and execution plans.
•Be the lead technical role on P&C design project deliverables from 11kV up to 400kV; act as Lead Project Engineer on project teams when appropriate.
•Produce detailed substation P&C design packages compliant with client and technical standards (IEC/IEEE).
•Design protection and control systems (relay diagrams, schematics, wiring diagrams, SCADA architecture, cable schedules).
•Coordinate design activities with US Energy Engineering Team and other departments to ensure high-quality deliverables and timely execution.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in electrical engineering
•12–15 years of experience in Substation Transmission & Distribution, Renewable (Onshore & Offshore wind/solar), USA projects
•Thorough knowledge of National Grid Technical Specifications, Technical Guidance Notes, and Design Handbooks for substation protection & control
•Membership in a relevant engineering institution (preferred) such as IET, CIGRE, IEC, IEEE
•Proficient in standard engineering techniques and procedures; strong communication and problem-solving skills; experience with AutoCAD and E-TAP (desirable)
