Job Summary

Own solution architecture for Mine Counter Measures (MCM) projects, performing development and implementation aligned to Project Design Authority. Translate customer needs into architecture and technical choices, manage requirements specifications, and support gated reviews across the development lifecycle. Partner with hardware, software, and key stakeholders to define standards, interface control documentation, design descriptions, verification objectives, and compliance/variation, ensuring delivery to budget and timescales.

Key Responsibilities

•Develop and implement solution architectures supporting Project Design Authority (PDA) for MCM projects.
•Create and deliver architectures for MCM projects, analyzing customer needs and technical trade-offs to maximize value.
•Develop and manage requirements specifications for system and subsystems, supporting gated reviews throughout the lifecycle.
•Define and authorize design descriptions and verification objectives, and provide technical specifications and Interface Control Documentation.
•Review technical risks/opportunities and ensure solution compliance with customer needs, product policy, applicable legislation, product safety/security, and Environmental/HSE requirements and standards.

•Act as a technical focal point for solution design, resolving system issues, conflicts, and unusual problems across the full system scope.
•Experience delivering solution design for Mine Counter Measures (MCM) and understanding of combat systems.
•Experience across developmental lifecycle activities (requirements capture, modelling & analysis, system design, product development, IV&V) and whole systems engineering lifecycles.
•Knowledge of requirements toolsets (e.g., IBM DOORS) and configuration control processes.
•Hold or be working towards appropriate professional status (CEng) or equivalent.
