Key Responsibilities

  • •Architect and build new internal AI systems end to end, from first design to production, as the founding engineer.
  • •Own trustworthy AI at company scale, including retrieval quality, permissions, security, and reliability.
  • •Work hands-on across the modern AI stack (LLMs, retrieval, agents, integrations) while keeping foundations pragmatic.
  • •Embed with teams to ship AI into real workflows and leave behind systems and owners that outlast the visit.
  • •Drive build-vs-buy evaluations and fast POCs, setting technical standards for AI across the company.

Key Requirements

  • •Track record building production systems at Staff+ scope (data infrastructure, retrieval, or applied AI) used daily by hundreds to thousands.
  • •Hands-on depth with the modern AI stack (LLMs, retrieval, agents, integrations) and evidence of learning from AI systems that were confidently wrong.
  • •Pragmatic technology instincts—reach for proven tools by default and defend exceptions.
  • •Founding-engineer, consulting, or forward-deployed experience—comfortable owning outcomes in others’ domains.
  • •Ability to ship frequently while maintaining trustworthy standards, and communicate clearly to a CEO.
