Job Summary

Provide mechanical engineering support for infrastructure and building projects with a Property and Buildings team, covering due diligence through design, installation, testing, and inspection. Collect and analyze field and design data, perform research and inspections for code/permit conformance, and support load calculations and future-ready system design. Prepare technical reports, drawings, and visualizations while maintaining quality control and assisting with project scoping, safety plans, and stakeholder coordination.

Key Responsibilities

•Collect, compile, and analyze field and design information (surveys, blueprints, schematics, technical drawings, and computer-generated reports) to support project development, design, and construction.
•Perform mechanical engineering work including research and inspections to determine conformance with standards, rules, and construction/operating permits.
•Support advanced technology and modeling for mechanical system design, including load calculations and operating strategies for equipment and system integration.
•Verify and provide technical assistance on automatic temperature control, air distribution, hydronic systems, and plumbing systems specifications and design issues.
•Prepare technical reports, documentation, and visualizations; maintain quality control standards; assist with health and safety plans and scoping of small- to medium-sized projects.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or closely related discipline).
•3 to 5 years of relevant post-education engineering experience with prior mechanical design experience.
•Engineer in Training (EIT) Certification.
•Knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, practices, and the application to project work, including design/build.
•Experience with building and infrastructure planning, design, and construction management (rehabilitation and new design).
