Key Responsibilities

  • •Weigh correct feed and water amounts, inspect water lines daily, remove/dispose of mortality, and examine birds for weak or sick birds.
  • •Drive farm truck to feed conversion houses, transfer birds into grow-out houses and place them in appropriate pens.
  • •Calculate pen size based on bird numbers, adjust partitions and floor shavings, and regulate temperature and humidity per instructions.
  • •Sort birds by breast size and collect weekly samples (cleft pallet swabs, feed, and shavings) for the corporate lab.
  • •Support additional duties as assigned, including sanitation, vaccinating/isolation for disease control, administering medications, and euthanizing weak/ill birds per policy.

Key Requirements

  • •Must have at least 12 months of consecutive work history with one employer and no additional job gaps greater than 6 months in the past 36 months (18 months for laid off or child/elder care).

  • •Must be willing and able to perform physical requirements, including safely lifting/moving up to 50 pounds and frequent stooping/bending and climbing/ladder usage.
  • •Must be willing to follow PPE and safety requirements (e.g., goggles/glasses/face shield, chemical gloves, waterproof apron, headlamps, company footwear, and N95 respirators as needed).
