Key Responsibilities

  • •Technically lead or verify flood hydrological assessments supporting flood alleviation scheme design, reservoir engineering, and flood risk assessments.
  • •Technically review or verify hydrological assessment reports.
  • •Support business development activities for water projects with a range of national and international clients.
  • •Mentor team staff in hydrological estimation to support professional development.
  • •Deliver thought leadership and represent AECOM at conferences; drive innovation in the team, including AI solutions.

Key Requirements

  • •Degree (BSc/BEng/MSc) in Hydrology, Civil Engineering, Environmental Science, Geography, or a related discipline.
  • •More than 15 years leading flood flow estimation using FEH and REFH2 for flood mapping and reservoir engineering.
  • •Deep understanding of statistical hydrological analysis.
  • •Experience working with hydraulic modellers to calibrate hydraulic models and familiarity with rating reviews.
  • •Strong GIS skills using QGIS, ArcGIS, and/or MapInfo, plus practical scripting knowledge (e.g., R, Python, Anaconda, Ruby) as advantageous.
