Job Summary

Join Trainline’s Atlas: Infrastructure Engineering and Tooling to build and operate the next version of Trainline’s infrastructure platform. You’ll work with Terraform on AWS (ECS/Lambda/IAM/CloudFront), develop automation in Node.js/Python, and contribute to secure, scalable deployment pipelines in a collaborative, hybrid environment.

Key Responsibilities

•Deliver improvements to Trainline’s engineering platforms, contributing to infrastructure that helps teams deploy, run and manage services reliably.
•Implement infrastructure changes using Terraform, following existing module patterns and ensuring changes are clear, consistent and maintainable.
•Apply least-privilege and secure-by-default principles across AWS accounts to maintain a secure platform environment.
•Contribute to automation scripts or tooling using Node.js or Python to support repeatable delivery and reduce manual effort.
•Collaborate with Senior Platform Engineers, Tech Leads and Delivery Managers to understand priorities, clarify requirements and deliver milestones.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: GBP 60,000 - 70,000 annually

Key Requirements

•Good experience with AWS services such as ECS, Lambda, IAM or CloudFront, and understanding of cloud operations and security best practices.
•Experience delivering infrastructure changes using Terraform with reusable, reliable code.
•Ability to deliver defined tasks with minimal supervision, while knowing when to ask questions, share progress or raise risks.
•Experience using Node.js or Python for automation, scripting, or integration tasks.
•A secure-by-default approach with least-privilege access in cloud environments and an interest in AI tooling to improve productivity.
