Key Responsibilities

  • •Lead technical support for overhead line design on complex multi-discipline projects.
  • •Deliver and support feasibility studies, including conductor thermal ratings and compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • •Write proposals covering timelines, resources, budget, objectives, and goals; support bids and client presentations.
  • •Own and execute assigned design activities such as line routing, structural analysis/loading trees, sag-tension calculations, and clearance reporting.
  • •Perform internal quality checks of engineering drawings and calculations, and champion mentorship and knowledge sharing within the team.

Key Requirements

  • •Professionally qualified CEng Chartered Engineer with a recognized electrical engineering institution (e.g., the IET).
  • •Bachelor’s degree in engineering (electrical or power engineering) or equivalent technical discipline.
  • •Experience delivering projects for transmission system operators such as National Grid, SSE, and SPT in line with each operator’s standards.
  • •Overhead line engineering project experience (ideally up to 400kV).
  • •Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
