Job Summary

Key Responsibilities

  • •Design spacecraft structures for manned and non-manned modules and satellites, selecting aerospace materials and defining tolerances; review CAD models and drawings
  • •Perform Finite Element Modelling with FEMAP, Patran or Hypermesh; conduct structural static and normal mode analyses using Nastran
  • •Support the spacecraft development plan from mechanical perspectives and prepare/design reports and instrumentation plans for mechanical testing
  • •Occasionally perform detailed verification through static/dynamic/fatigue/fracture mechanics analyses and support static and dynamic testing preparation
  • •Coach and develop younger resources and contribute to design and development plans

Key Requirements

  • •Mechanical Engineering knowledge
  • •Knowledge of metallic and non-metallic technologies for materials or processes
  • •Knowledge of aerospace design and analysis methodologies and manuals (e.g. Bruhn, Roark)
  • •Knowledge of CAD tools (e.g. CATIA) and manufacturing processes and capabilities
  • •Master Degree in Aerospace, Aeronautical or Mechanical Engineering
