Job Summary

Build and evolve core technologies for TikTok’s automated multi–data center infrastructure. You’ll design backend systems that improve platform reliability and user experience while tackling multi-data center challenges like resource allocation, traffic distribution, disaster tolerance, and cost optimization. Partner across teams on key cross-team projects, and help drive adoption of automated data center building technologies and AI-enabled operations through specifications, tools, and best practices.

Key Responsibilities

•Design, develop, and evolve fundamental technologies for TikTok’s automated data center building, targeting backend systems under multi-data center architecture.
•Build reliable platform-type products that solve real business problems, enhance user experience, and improve platform stability.
•Address multi-data center challenges from a global perspective, enabling multi-data-center-friendly business architectures and infrastructure (resource allocation, traffic distribution, disaster tolerance, and cost optimization).
•Promote adoption of automated data center building technologies and drive AI technology enablement for multi-data center construction and operations/maintenance, producing technical specifications, tools, and best practices.
•Use strong project management, communication, and collaboration skills to lead and/or participate in key cross-team projects.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree or above in computer science, software engineering, communications, or a related field, with familiarity with common data structures and algorithms.
•Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Java, Golang, or Python, with good coding habits and code style.
•Proficiency in one or more databases, message middleware, and frameworks, including understanding basic implementation principles and application scenarios.
•Experience with distributed system R&D, understanding technical challenges under microservice architecture, and familiarity with business architecture design paradigms.
•Strong data sense and business understanding with good abstraction and problem-solving abilities, plus effective communication and collaboration.
