Key Responsibilities

  • •Operate equipment safely and efficiently within designed parameters, including excavator and other construction equipment.
  • •Operate in confined and high-traffic areas and take action to avoid hazards or obstructions.
  • •Locate utilities and buried lines prior to digging; shovel earth/dirt to prepare ground trenches for pipes.
  • •Utilize equipment and manual tools to remove earth/debris and may dig up existing ground pipes as needed.

Key Requirements

  • •3-6 years background in heavy civil construction, including grading, excavation, underground utilities, site work, and/or related scopes; extensive experience as a lead excavator operator in utility installation.
  • •Ability to lead and train others to their level of proficiency.
  • •Ability to read and comprehend blueprints, site specifications, and instructions; able to write simple correspondence.
  • •Valid driver’s license; pass pre-employment physical fitness/agility test and drug screen.
  • •Must have current authorization to work in the United States; ability to travel outside Helena, MT (may require 50%+ during work season).
